True, but you also need to consider the fact that since Intel is the bigger market share (far bigger) that means that everything will be optimized for Intel, before it is optimized for AMD. Programs, hardware, Operating systems, etc. will be made to work for Intel First. It just makes sense.

Not that I dislike AMD.. on the contrary, it makes prices compedative and keeps them lower. :) which is all around better for everyone.

If you're like me, then you say "to hell with customer support" to that -- I've never needed it, nor do I think I'd ever use it unless I couldn't figure out a fix on my own. ;)

Only thing you really even need AMD's site for is drivers anyway, and usually the better drivers for the processor come with the motherboard, unless the processor is much much newer than the motherboard, in which case the company is probably still fine. tp((

TBH my Intel Never spikes... and it never heats up that alarmingly. I wouldnt mind some proof of that, and based off the new intel processors, to compare to AMD's new lineup... not compared to old Intel Versus New AMD...

Combine this with their Far superiour overclocking ability... Intel FTW in my honest opinion.

From that article you mentioned:
"The company's (AMD) financial situation is precarious right now, and it needs all the revenue it can muster."

In case the processor died, I would rather be sticking with the bigger company, wouldnt you? If AMD went bankrupt, what about customer support? Thrown out the window.

But.. whatever makes you happy :)

doesn't sound like a piece by piece build like I did.. (went to newegg and found each piece separately), but it seems a little bit high.

and 650W will be pushed to the max, go atleast 800W with dual 8800s..

1. i would have just put the big raptor as my system drive and not bothered with a spare or gotten a raid spare if i were serious about storage
2. 650W power... that'll run everything fine so i'm not complaining, but i "go big or go home" so 1 got a 1kW last time
3. I don't like onboard audio, even if it is 7.1, but if you're not a major audiophile like me, don't worry too much about those.

Those are just the personal changes i'd make to suit me, but either way, that's a pretty nasty machine for a nice price!
1. My idea was to keep C: drive as a "Windows OS" system files only, hence the 36GB.. The 150GB would be for games and stuff, and im thinking of putting in my old 300GB SATA (WD but not raptor, its a regular SATA, 7,500RPM). I got a pair of cheap graphics for now because its DX10, and these nvidia cards were released very soon after DX10 was released.. 650W is enough for everything, support what I need, etc. I got allot of stuff "basic" because I will be using my old stuff, like my old 300GB HDD, and my old XiFi Sound Audigy card (its cheap, but its sound, i dont need good sound tbh, just performance.)

Re: Intel or AMD

Since no one wants to help me (noobs)

I found an article on the compariosion of "AMD Anthlon X2 6400+ or Intel Core 2 Duo E6850"

http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1 ... 092,00.asp

I think I will be getting the AMD when I get a new pc, Intel overheats, and when it runs good, there is always a spike in frames... so im sick of that.

AMD Anthlon X2 6400+ for the win.. To bad tom's hardware won't update their f*cking charts to update the new processor.. They also plan on releasing a "black" edition of the AMD X2 processor, so yeah.

Im looking into some companies (alienware and ibuypower, ibuy is currently to good to be true but who cares rofl).

Like people said before, AMD is like smooth like a soap bar, and Intel is as rough as sand paper..

True

But, we already have "SLI" hard drives known as RAID, SLI for gfx, soon will be SLI for physics, we already have 2x or more processors, only thing they haven't thought out is 2x ram (like 8 slots and 2 diff controllers for each lol)
