Questions:

1) Should I get the AMD Anthlon X2 6400+ BlackEdition or Intel QX6850
2) Should I get the best NVIDIA or ATI gfx card?

... Your getting all that DX10 equipment and not getting Vista.

Now thats stuped. Just get more, you only need 2 gigs for Vista, and 4 if you want to give your games lots of extra... I HIGHLY doubt that any game for the next year will use ~3 gigs of Ram..

My Computer now is on Vista Ultimate and idles about ~800mb/s of ram with MSN and IE open. Not too bad.

Well, if your getting all of that sh*t, an 8800Ulta x2 is a waste, for you can get a 9800GT in what, 2 months? Same with CPU, AMD is workin on sh*t, and Intel is coming out with another model name

Well, I just put in my old computer's 120GB IDE drive, I was surprised to find it working, and it has renegade on it! :o

I put it in, and I suddenly get crazy good constant FPS!

I think my current hard drive is shared to much, OS, Programs, etc. and it sucks for games, so I am definetly going to go with the 2 hard drives build on raptors.

Also, I have decided not to get Vista, I don't like ram hoggers :-(

Vista works fine for me as well.. so that shouldnt be a problem.

... I personally would wait till the New Gforce 9 series comes out in two months.. but thats your choice, and your money.

Anyhow, this is what I am getting *VERY* soon!

New computer is:

[Case] Standard ATX Mid-Tower Case from IBUYPower

[Power Supply] 1000 Watt -- NZXT PRC-1000 Power Supply (Quad-SLI Ready)

[CPU] Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad-Core Processor QX6850 (4x 3.0GHz/8MB L2 Cache/1333FSB)

[CPU Cooling] Thermaltake MaxOrb CPU Cooling Fan System Kit

[Motherboard] Asus Striker Extreme nForce® 680i SLI Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, IEEE-1394 Dual PCI-E

[Ram] 4096MB [2048MB X2] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module Mushkin High Performance II (HP2) w/Heat Spreader

[Graphics Card] 2x 8800Ultra NVIDIA SLI Graphics Card (2x 768MB Ram per card)

[Storage] 2x WD Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 16M Cache Hard Drive (One for gaming, one for operating system & programs)

[Sound Card] Creative Lab Sound Blaster X-Fi ExtremeGamer

[Network Card] Intel Pro 10/100/1000 Network Card

[Operating System] Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate

Now I know what your saying "z0mfG Vista sucks!!"

Well, to be honest, I don't give a damn, I know how to modify operating systems to make them run under recommended startup ram usage. I have my windows xp load at 120MB on startup :D

Basically I was talking to "Caveman" about my choices. (aka computer nerd I know on the net..) and he was saying AMD is loosing as well, and he biased for AMD, he won't touch an Intel, and he said Intel was winning.

Also, he was saying, difference between Pentium D, C2D, and Core Quad, was, PD has 2 cores, but only 1 is really in use and you need to set the affinity for the 2nd one if you want it to work. But C2D and Core Quad also has multiple cores, but the architecture basiclly splits up the load onto the available cores as they come, so I was like, "Quad core here we come baby!"

Also, I wanted to do a oranization of storage, I was thinking of raid, but meh, to hard to configure and I was thinking this would run better.

C:\ = Windows - 36 WD Raptor
G:\ = Games - 150 WD Raptor
P:\ = Programs - 300GB WD SATA (Using it in my comp atm.)

So im thinking its going to be a nice build.

Lets Not start this again...

Raul I have personally tried Brand New Intel and Amd Processors, and there is no difference at all. Honestly.

Lets Rewind history a bit.

First Came the Intel Pentium 4 Series
Then came the AMD Athlon™ 64 Series
Soon After Came the Intel Pentium D Series
Now, we have the Intel C2D Series... AMD still has the Athlon™ 64 Series.

At First, the P4 Series was killing AMD.. then the Athlon™ 64 series came out. At this point AMD was winning the battle. Intel's Pentium D's came out, but because they were relatively the same architecture as the P4's.. they did not do so well.
Now Intel has Come out with their newer, Next generation, more efficient C2D Series, and amd is on the loosing end.. until they come out with their next gen product.

Its A Cycle, you cannot say that AMD is better because, frankly, it isnt. If you compare it to the older stuff it is, but the newer stuff... not so much. It goes over and over again.

Matix... Excellent Choice. All Around :) Those Video cards will Scream. And... you can sell them and upgrade to a Gf9 card when they come out November!
