choosing between one or the other, i definately choose bio over blog.. it could show the avater used on the foums, maybe a "real pic" option which i think explains itself, space to write about yourself, and maybe the forum signature somewhere in there.. it could be very cool.. probibly not as customizable as myspace.. but that's probibly just going a bit far anyway.. If you were to add a bloging feature (if how it sounds to me is correct) that'd be like leaving a myspace comment?

Would you prefer a bio thread and/or a blog plugin?

if i knew what the php work was i might understand wut ur saying but seeing as how i am oblivious to time? work? it takes for scripting i'll keep making up super weird things to add in

Toads bio

The obvious issue here is that a lot of this would require a lot of custom PHP work which isn't top priority atm. However, I'll see what we can work out in regards to this suggestion.

The most stable and reasonable resolution to this topic would be to public some sort of blog functionality where people can have an extended profile and manage their blogs through their UCP. We've had this in the past on our old site.

so i logged back into my sportingnews account.. and i remembered something cool. At the bottom of our profile... we had "testimonials" or something like that. Basically, what happened was, in my profile, there would be a space set up where people could leave a testimonial, for example: I log into tsugaming.com and go to my profile. OMG! A testimonial from medici, it reads: Toad you are a god man. I accept it now its at the bottom of my testimonial area. Or... OMG A testimonial from crazyreb!!! it reads: Toad is the biggest noob u could find.. i reject it! (i'd probably accept it though ) lol
so ya... a blog space? sounds good? hablaba time for a poll! (not made by me)

Why not just get a blog mod working? Wouldn't that accomplish the same thing?

ya, optional would be sweet. I think it would be a good add on to the "Team" page. as you can see it just shows their names and ranks lets see some pics and bios

It would be an opt-in system, so if you don't want to make one you don't have to. Each bio would take about the same amount of DB space as a single post, depending on how long it is, so I don't think storage would be an issue.

As for a minimum post limit, I doubt people who are not planning to be active in the community would take the time to write a lengthy bio anyway.
