If you wait a while the 9600 will probably drop in price, it's only as expensive as it is due to low supply and the fact it's only just been released, the RRP is about £25 less than what they are selling it for over here..

Generally the results show the 8800 is still top-dog in the graphics card market, which is unsurprising since the 9600 is nVidia's latest mid-range card, and the 8800 is a top of the range card. When the 9800 (?) comes out expect to see the 8800 booted off top spot. Therefore, if you have a choice between the 9600GT and the 8800GT for the same price, go for the 8800GT. As I said before, the 9600GT price is only higher because it's just new out.
