Well... I've used both VirtualDub and Sony Vegas in the past -- both compress well & both allow the divx codec to be used.
I just like Sony Vegas because it allows you to use sequences of images and add audio separately as well as saving under specific codecs (excellent as a follow-up to Source Recorder).

- Is VirtualDub free?
- Will VirtualDub let me encode in DivX while also including my audio (I record my FRAPS with audio)

I found my solution.
Windows Media Encoder.
It's free, runs on Win2k/XP, compressed my 1GB video with audio down to 50MB without hardly any video or audio loss (still DVD quality).

I will be doing it tonight. Those are the videos I tested this on and it came out with good results (audio got a bit messed up, but whatever)
