People often reply in different topics and think they've replied in another. It's pretty easy to get confused when there are so many topics about the same things scattered around this large site.
Also, sometimes people type a post, but don't hit submit or it posts with an error - and they never actually finish the process of submission. But the site's not going to lie and say something is untouched if someone deleted something. Not to mention there would be no gain out of deleting positive feedback.
