Splitting a sound file?

Basically, I have this song that I want the bonus track and the main song split into 2... anyone have the know how to do that? Without loss in quality, of course.

just one song thats all.

I know if you use Sound Recorder you can splice audio files. It might be crude (and harder than other programs) but you can definitely use Windows Sound Recorder to split files if you know what you're doing.

Just set the 'End' marker where you want to split it. And save the first portion. Then open the original again, and set the 'Start' marker where the 'End' marker was and save the second portion. That should work.

Also, I think Movie Maker can do audio files too. May want to check that out.

That's just two things off the top of my head.

It's fairly effective, and free (google ftw).
