School Internet Access

Post by medici »

>:( The head of I.T. at my school is a fr00b, and we've just had a new networking system and an operating system update, that restrict what we do even more. I was wondering if there's any way to get past their crappy blocks (I'm a computer n00b), I'd just like to be able to stick my tongue out and say 'ha ha I can get past you'.

Details:

There's a surf-control thing that blocks certain sites, (I think this is partly provided by the council for use by the school as a client)

They've now built in a thing where the browser is closed if you open a webpage that contains a certain word, e.g. 'game'.

Any file saved with the word 'game' in is immediately deleted (but I don't care about this)

Thanks for anyone's help :P , and if this is against a Tsugaming rule then just delete it...

There's a thingy in my school : London Grid of Learning.

Blocks any site that has to do with Webchat, Gaming and a few other things.

MkPortal and phpbb3 isn't though - so I can access this in my IT Lessons and Tutor Period (because my Tutor is an ICT Teacher >:D)

Damn, I'm really bad with computery things, I know that the new networking system is called 'Ranger' and that they've updated the operating system to some kind of xp professional I think... I don't know about the surf control system as that just comes up with 'Surf controlled - Access Denied' when you try to access a restricted site.
