CPU/Mobo/HDD Recommendations?
Posted: December 4th, 2007, 7:36 pm
I am *NOT* looking for the latest and greatest versions of these things. I am looking for an "average" system for the CPU/Mobo, at a good price. And I'm looking for an average (slightly better than average) SATA drive.
I'd like you guys to help me find these things. If you find anything that is at a good price and is near my requirements, please post below. I've found a few good things already, but I don't have time to keep digging around all night tonight so I thought I'd make this post.
HERE IS WHAT I NEED:
No reused or refurbished equipment unless it is recertified with a guarantee.
That's about it. If you have questions regarding what I'm looking for feel free to ask.
I'm looking to purchase this within the next 2 weeks. All items are somewhat urgent.
Thanks!

HERE IS WHAT I NEED:
- A motherboard (or mobo/cpu combo) that will support at least 3GB of RAM, 2 IDE channels (total of 4 IDE devices), and AGP 8x.
- A CPU (or mobo/cpu combo) that is at least 2.8 Ghz and compatible with the motherboard listed above. No reject processors, like Celeron plx. And no 64-bit processors.
- A SATA hard drive. Must be SATA (not IDE or SCSI). At least 74GB of storage. If you find out with a good amount of cache and/or higher RPM that is cheap, you can include that as well even though it will be 'a little more expensive'.
No reused or refurbished equipment unless it is recertified with a guarantee.
