Major Forum Changes
Posted: January 24th, 2008, 1:19 pm
I know we all get sick of forum changes, but they're a necessary evil.
Over the years we've changed a lot, often jumping back and forth between similar layouts. The reason for this change is because we need to adapt to "supply and demand" and try to keep an efficient layout that appeases our users' needs.
So what has been changed and why?
If anyone finds any bugs (whether it be a post that is out of place or a link that doesn't work) PLEASE report it in this thread. Also, if you have any suggestions (or complaints, I guess I'll listen to those too) then share them in this thread.
I hope you all enjoy the new layout!
Over the years we've changed a lot, often jumping back and forth between similar layouts. The reason for this change is because we need to adapt to "supply and demand" and try to keep an efficient layout that appeases our users' needs.
So what has been changed and why?
- Forums that are popular by our Registered users and our regulars, have been moved down. This is because our regulars understand how our forums work and are already in close communication with our staff so they can afford the extra scrolling and perhaps the occasional confusion.
- Forums that are popular by our Guest users, have been moved up. This is so that when new users who don't know much about TsuGaming but have a specific goal in mind (ie. "I need to post in the Renegade server section") need to be able to find it with ease.
- Informational sections (such as News/Alerts) have been condensed to make it easier on users to keep up with it. We'll save you a few extra clicks so that you take the time to read the topics like we need you to.
- Self-Help sections (such as F.A.Q., and Help Me) have been moved up into a new "GETTING STARTED" category so that new users can have all of their questions answered top and center without having to search for help. It couldn't be easier.
- Gaming discussions have been consolidated into a new "PC Games Chat" forum so that you don't have to check 10 different forums when 10 different people post about 10 different games that aren't that popular in this community. So rather than checking 10 forums with 10 topics you can now check 1 forum with 100 topics. This should make it easier on players wanting to work up interest in new games.
- Any game that is already popular in the community (right now its: CSS, Renegade, and WoW) will have a forum of their own in the "FEATURED DISCUSSIONS" category. These forums will have subforums which you can find anything related to these games under. So, for example, if you want to talk about Renegade servers, Renegade competitions, Renegade general chat, etc. they're all in the same section: "Renegade". This should also make it easier on both regulars and guests when they're looking for information amongst numerous forums.
