Ive been using my mic for a long time now and i recently changed the comps that I use and this one is running off Vista.
All my sh*t is working properly but it wont recognize the mic being plugged into the usb port. There was no kind of install I jsut plugged it in and it worked.
Anyone have any ideas?

Headset type (mfr at least)?
Vista: 32-bit or 64-bit?
Once those are answered, we can troubleshoot. If it isn't installing the drivers then you'll have to check the manufacturer's site for the driver(s) that you're needing.

Wasnt a headset, its just a free standing mic. Is that what you meant?
Its a 32 bit.

Art: For starters, get a head set. So much better. And, try to upgrade to 64 bit (A LOT better than 32 bit). Also.. post a link or something of what you have/specs. There are hundreds of mics out there

Straight up dude, this comp is fuckin pro. Prolly just cause of the graphics card but its the fastest one ive ever used.
As for the mic, its a shitty mic but its ma baby and if i can get it to work i would prefer that over anything else.
The only info I have on it is the little sticker on the bottom.
"Desktop Microphone"
Model:#11427
Warrenty Claims or technical support Call 1-800-611-8048"
Im sure as f*ck not calling them to get this sorted out. I will talk to someone for 4 hours for them to tell me it wont work.

Most likely it has nothing to do with the hardware (the mic itself) and everything to do with the soundcard drivers.
Make sure your soundcard drivers are up to date and that they're made for Vista (and not XP). It makes a huge difference.
If that doesn't help, there is a chance that you mic/input is disabled through the sound card control panel (audio properties). So check that, too.

You might need to enable the microphone in vistas audio control panel, by default it would use the mic_in jack on the sound card (or motherboard) in preference to a USB microphone. See screenshot, if you go to that control panel (right click sound icon in taskbar -> recording devices) then select your USB microphone and choose 'Set Default'.
Of course, if the USB microphone is not even listed in there that implies it's drivers are missing and its not been correctly installed.

I dont think it has anything to do with the mic either. i made sure all my sh*t was enabled and working.
Ive checked the place that danpaul said and all it says is my mic is not plugged in.
I think that it has sound to do with the comp and its sounds settings cause I also get an error message when i open ts, TDSoundIn:No sound drivers available for use.
Even though i hit okay in the error box and my ts opens no problem.

Do what I suggested (with your sound drivers/settings) and make sure you try both WAVE and DirectInput options (in teamspeak config).

I looked up how to update drivers and whatnot. It said in the device manager to expand it and double click on the sound card but there is no sound card. There is only a "high definition audio device" and "unsupported game port"
?

Im guessing the error saying "No sound driver available for use" is causing the problem?

No sound driver implies TS thinks there is no sound card installed on the system, or at least none with a microphone capability.. not sure what else to suggest really.
Check in device manager to ensure there are no icons with a ? next to them, as this would indicate Vista was not able to locate drivers for those items. I know when I first installed Vista I had to hunt down a few random drivers on the internet to get everything working.
