April Fools?

No, it was not an April Fools joke that our server was down for a full day. At least I didn't find it funny -_-
Long story short, we went to do a "quick" reboot (expected downtime was 5 minutes) and the server insisted on doing a chkdsk to fix some file corruption.
It turns out that it was actually reading file permissions on an unmounted parition as "invalid" and replacing the permissions on each and every file one at a time ..... which took about 14 hours. Fun.
So when it came back online early this morning, we confirmed this is what happened. Meaning the game servers, teamspeak, irc, etc. are all 99% perfectly fine (very few fixes were needed). But the webserver needed some heavy work to get it back up and running 100%.
Right now, the webserver appears to be running at about 90% efficiency. So we will continue to work on it.
If you notice any errors, specifically any permission errors, ftp problems, email problems, etc. please let us know in this thread IMMEDIATELY so we can try to fix it.

lol, it was a bit of a nightmare.
Since I don't want to point figures as to what caused this (or who) and cause arguments, I chose to just do things my way ... the safe way ... and everything seems to be back to normal.
Hopefully all is well now, and I apologize for the ridiculous amount of down time. I stayed up until 1am watching my screen religiously for the server to come up ... then slept until 7am and started getting things back up.

We had to do another reboot (already done) and it worked the way it was supposed to this time. We should be done with the reboots now. And we also have a MUCH better understanding of what happened so that we can prevent it from happening again.

Test test.
I just completely backed up and deleted everything tsugaming.com related ..... and then rebuild the domain from scratch using the backup. So I need to make sure everything is fine.
The website appears to be fully functional (including the forums which is the most complicated part of the website) so I'm guessing everything worked.

They're actually up, but the DNS records for those two things aren't created.
In non-geek terms: you have to connect by IP for now. I'll fix that right now.
