Lol, we building a hovercraft!!! It's gonna be awesome. So, anyone ever have any experience with these? We plan on building something simple, prolly just a board of plywood, we thinking of cutting it into a circle. For out "Skirt" or the thing that gets filled with air, we gonna get lots of holes in it, like and air hockey table. At least thats what I want to do. Holes like a hole puncher sized... We have a leaf blower to inflate, and we thinking of something to push us along.
So... anyone wanna comment? :D It's gonna be awesome. hh) hh) hh)

I seen the mythbusters do something like this with a surfboard or something.
I dont get it, is the leaf blower meant to inflate it aswell as propell it?

sounds like fun - needs more power - 10 leaf blowers FTW.

We've done something similar.

Key is: Weight.

The circle idea is good, and the leaf blower. Don't put too many holes, but put enough.

Get a nice piece of plywood and round it off. Get some sort of material (Doesn't matter too much, should be strong though) for the skirt and wrap it around, making sure it is VERY secure. Mount the ends of 2 leaf blowers on the back, and bend about 6 inches of the barrel things into the plywood (Create 2 holes that are air-tight, and the correct size). Turn both blowers on, and wallah. Turn the right off to go right, and the left off to go left, both on to go forward. Again, be careful with the weight, and make sure the area you do it on doesn't have any sharp objects or combustibles lying around. Catching the skirt on fire could cause one hell of a problem, especially when the blowers are both turned on.

Hope this helps!

PS: 10 leaf blowers won't fit, and will be way to heavy.

It's too small for fans, leaf blowers will work fine. If you need extra help turning, just lean

ya we were actually thinking of building that! ^^^^
ya... i guess we are going with more of a "traditional" shape for the plywood. Where it's shaped like a rectangle, but rounded on one end. We were thinking of getting 3 inches for the height of our skirt. We also thinking about using like a 3 way pipe. That way we get air inflating the skirt, as well as propelling us... we start construction tomorrow.. should be fun!
