Asus have always been my brand of choice as far as motherboards are concerned, and on processors, the Intel Core processors are currently the best on the market.

Hell, I could give him the best of the best. Problem is, the best of the best is about 6 grand, and I know Ace doesn't have that kind of money for a COMPUTER.

The first one is my choice. But the case, power supply and video card need changing.

This case may not look as fancy but it uses all 120mm fans which make it very quiet and is what I use.
NZXT Hush Classic Series Silent Chassis
SKU: MX18046Part#: HUSH-BK

This power supply has a 120mm fan (quiet) and has enough juice to power your rig and any future additions. More power = less problems.
OCZ 600W GameXStream Power Supply w/ Quad +12V
SKU: MX12598Part#: OCZ600GXSSLI

The video card is most important if you wish to play future games and get that great fps. Upgrade to this one which is a better value for the money.
eVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT SuperClocked 512MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDTV-Out
SKU: MX20073Part#: 512-P3-N862-AR

These changes shouldn't cost too much but will make it a rig you can live with.

$10.00 Mail in Rebate
eVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT SuperClocked 512MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDTV-Out
SKU: MX20073Part#: 512-P3-N862-AR $179.95
$169.95*

Thats what it is worth here in Canada where I buy my computer parts. The 8500 he is looking at is $109.95 which would make a 60.00 upgrade well worth it.

What is your budget? are you interested in ordering from online? Maybe considering a laptop? (which are awesome BTW, just expensive)

answer those and I can put you together one.

Not a new computer just newest card for as cheap as you can get it, ill probably need something else to go with it for it to work properly too.

I do not use msn mofire but if you want catch me on teamspeak.
To upgrade to any of these vid cards you require a motherboard that has a pci-e slot. So if your comp is older it may be an agp video slot and will not work. Pci is not the same as pci-e, the e stands for express.
I am not in favor of laptops for gaming due to overheating issues BTW.
