Looks good, although I hate Vista. It will work fine unless you run into some small incompatability, and then have fun reloading the OS

everything seems good though. You cant get a cheaper Mouse and Keyboard, and get a 8800gtx? Ii will make a whole lotta difference!

I don't see why people are so anti-vista, I have been using it since before it went RTM (legal pre-release copy from MSDNAA), and have NEVER had a single problem with it. Sure, it's a bit greedy on the memory side, but so was XP when it was first released, until the hardware caught up.

You don't have Ren installed, simple.

A. Newegg doesn't sell an 8800GTX, and B. I don't think there even is one. The one I'm getting is the 8800GTS G92, not just GTS.

Vista seems fine for me, as long as I can play CoD4, WoW, Mass Effect, SupCom, CoH, and TF2 I'm fine.

Cursed, I don't play Renegade, so I'm not worried about that.

Yes I do actually, it's been installed since the day I installed Vista itself. I put the disk in, clicked install, waited for the installer to finish, patched to 1.037, set XP SP2 compatibility and admin mode, clicked play and bam, it worked just fine. Added scripts.dll 3.4.4 later on, still worked perfectly fine.

overkill on the keyboard and mouse .
everything else is fine but I would change the motherboard to this one because it has better cooling for the north and southbridge chipsets as well as pci-e x 16 with pci 2.0

Asus P5Q Deluxe w/ DualDDR2 1200, 7.1 Audio, Dual GB Lan, 1394, PCI-E x16 CrossFireX

next upgrade the ram to this, because the 1066 speed will help and it is not much more $

Patriot Extreme Performance Viper Series DDR2 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-8500 Enhanced Latency Dual Channel Kit
SKU: MX21022Part#: PVS24G8500ELKR2

Vista 64 bit is fine and plays everything and I have had no problems with any games - even ren with 3.4.4 scripts.

It's a nice keyboard, and it's got a lot of function buttons, which I like. The mouse, yeah, I downgraded to the G3.

@ Killer

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 8800%2bgtx

@ Vista lovers

Its unoptimized, and DX10 hardly looks different than DX9... Everything Vista can do, XP can do better. Worth it for Aero and slightly better networking? I think not.

I just hate it because the wireless on my laptop stopped working due to some random vista incompatibility. (No it wasn't drivers, it was Vista)
Only solution? Reinstall the OS ... last time it was because it didn't support my SATA hard drive, so that needed another re installation... Headache after headache.

I never said I was a Vista lover, I just said it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.
