HI!
Just wondering if it is possible or not to put a password on a file; input that password to access the said file...
If you could explain how to do that, would also help...

Easiest way to do it is download winrar and put the file in a passworded, encrypted zip or rar file. If you use a rar file it requires winrar to open it again on any machine.

Are you asking how to password protect individual files? So that when a person goes to open the file they have to enter a password to view it?
I've done something similar, but I use encryption. You enter a password as the encryption key, and then encrypt the file. Since the file is encrypted it can't be opened (even if stolen). And then to open it you use your encryption key (either the password, or a code generated and stored as a file ... like on a floppy disk you can carry with you).

^That way you can store all the child pr0n you want on your computer, right fl00d? (jk)
I've come across a few rar files that I needed a password for. Usually it's on stuff that's sent over rapidshare.
