Monitor entering power save mode...

So my monitor likes to go into power save mode... a lot. I really don't know why, I went into power options and told it to never turn off the monitor but it does. And the worst part is, if I move the mouse or press buttons on keyboard it won't turn back on. It tells you to move mouse but that doesn't work. Any ideas as to why this could be???

Try searching for utilities on the internet that can help you with that. I know there are some registry bugs that people get which cause this same problem -- so that's probably what's wrong with your PC. And the only way to fix it is to change files/registry settings ..... which obviously won't be happening by you. ;) So find software that does it for you. That's my suggestion.

well the computer taht was having the problem wasn't connected to the internet, so it didn't get all of the updates. So we brought it downstairs and connected it, got the updates, installed drivers for monitor and graphics card and it works now.... Kind of frustrating if equipment won't work if you can't connect to internet though =/

Most likely there was a driver that came with your motherboard, monitor, or graphics card that you didn't install. And Windows Update just found it for you since you didn't install it properly when you set up your computer.

I've never heard of a PC having that sort of an issue because of the lack of a Windows update.
