TT patch problems (update) - bad bad news!!

What I've gathered from talking to him (Nightma12) and by skimming this topic is that the TT patch source code was carelessly released by jonwil on an unsecured website, trooprm02 obtained it, then trooprm02 posted it on the cheat forums.
For those of you that prefer to stay away from RenForums, this is a good place for us to talk about what's going on relating to this topic. My sympathies go out to the TT development team. They've clearly spent a lot of time (and presumably money) on this project only to see it effortlessly destroyed by one of the most annoying players in Renegade history (trooprm02).
I am, of course, taking the story with a grain of salt. Who knows what the real story is or what will happen because of what has supposedly already occurred. But what I can say is that if I were an owner/managing member of the TT group I would be giving strong consideration to suing everyone involved in the demise of this project. I have never had anything against jonwil, but I would include him in the lawsuit for negligence, failure to use reasonable precaution to protect intellectual property, and breech of non-disclosure. Depending on the actual circumstances I would go after tooprm02 as well for accessing and releasing copyrighted material. And finally, I would try to turn this unfortunate series of events into a positive one by using it as grounds to finally go after 0x90 (or whoever manipulates/uses the TT source) - if there are any grounds at all.
Its a sticky situation, and I hate seeing this happen to Renegade. It's ironic that someone who has been on the Tsunami Gaming Wall of Shame for years is finally responsible for the final days of C&C:Renegade after all it has been through.
This is a sad day for Renegade, my friends.
