I am going to start cracking down on thread hijacking and spam.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, here are the main points I'm trying to make:
If your post doesn't have anything to do with the STARTING topic of that thread, then don't post it.
If your post isn't in response to a post in that thread (or in regards to #1) then don't post it.
If someone asks you to go back on topic, then do it.
Do not hesitate to start new threads. If you need to reference another thread then just post a link to that thread in your new thread. Mixing threads/topics causes a lot of confusion (and sometimes anger because you stole their topic).
Don't post useless topics. If a topic isn't going to generate responses, then don't post it. If it's expected to have a big response, heated debate, 'free speech', etc. then make sure it goes in the appropriate forum.
You do NOT have to post a response to every post. Even if you have an opinion on it. Only post replies to posts where you can CONSTRUCTIVELY add to the topic. Things like "I agree" are a complete waste of pixels and are definitely spam. Don't do it.
I appreciate the interest in this site, but we have a handful of people (about 5 or so) that are breaking these rules above and I'm getting sick of saying "back on topic" or "nice spam".
One final point I'd like to make is that I am going to be looking for forum moderators soon, and anyone who breaks these rules (or any moderators who fail to enforce these rules) will NOT be getting any mod. I will refuse your mod applications or remove your mod powers if you're not following these rules. I'm taking this very seriously, now.
What about the free speech section? Is that still under the same rule? I think it should be, people can say what they want to, freely, as long as it still resembles the topic.
People could complain and say that its not really free speech...
If we do notice a spam message (that is obviously just for the purpose of spamming).. do we use the "report this message" (the "!") at the bottom of the page, or is that just for inappropriate posts? (bad stuff not in free speech, pr0n, etc.)

Just report posts if they have pr0n or links to other bad material... and if someone is bothering you personally outside the free speech section.
And dont spam.
We can deal with posts that have spam, as far as I can see... if you reported every post with spam in it.. we would be pretty busy.. And we usually read it anyway.
