As part of a method to help keep our forums a clean and healthy environment for gamers (especially children gamers under the age of 18), I am going to go through a short phase where I will be extra picky about some of the forum rules as well as enforcing some new ones. I will also be reviewing the "forum moderator" situation; removing those that aren't active or qualified and replacing them with active/responsible moderators.
For those who haven't been a participant of the Tsunami Gaming Network for very long, you may not be familiar with what is known as the 'Tsunami Bible'. This electronic document establishes the foundation and structure of the Tsunami Gaming Network, including rules and ethics.
Though this document does not specify every last rule and expectation, it does cover most things and give you a general idea of how the community is run and what parents can expect from our leadership.
We employ only the most professional and responsible leadership, and give serious consideration to the environment you trust your children in (this site).

Please also notice there is a section which references the new 'Cyber Bullying' trend which is a growing concern amongst parents. We have addressed this in Tsunami Gaming and will be taking extra measures to look out for this sort of thing in the months to come. (What Is CyberBullying? Read This)

Personally I think we should change the name of the tsugaming Bible.
Why? Well, its not the Holy Catholic / Christain Bible.
Bible also means "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth"
Not "Basic Instructions in TSU Gaming"
-_-

Similar importance (to heavily religious people) of it is implied by the title alone w/ the current title?Matix wrote:Personally I think we should change the name of the tsugaming Bible.

Few people these days actually care about/pay attention to the actual definition of "bible" tbph.
I personally could care less if it meant "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth" or not - but of course, I don't really believe that any set of instructions can, or even should, tell you how to live your life before leaving earth.
Re: Enforcing Forum Rules & Community Ethic
I agree, but I am saying that in some people's opinion the word "Bible" used in that way will be insulting.. Not saying I am, just trying to make us look more pro.

Re: Enforcing Forum Rules & Community Ethic
bible can be taken to mean any tome wherein the ideals of a particular group or belief are documented.... it needs no religious connotation, perhaps that high school told you there could only be one true bible? lol j/k

It's just a play on words.
When you hear someone say "its the doctor's bible" they're talking about a document that doctor's can't live without.
When you hear someone say "it's a hacker's bible" they're talking about a document that a hacker couldn't live without.
It just means that this is the foundation, explanation, and 'can't live without' document of the Tsunami Gaming network.
Being Christian myself, I find no offensive suggestions using this term.
