Important IP Changes

Post by fl00d3d »

We're in the process of switching out our old quad core box for a new quad core, and it's been moved to a different network, so we couldn't get the same IPs. That means that the IPs for a lot of thing had to be changed.

So....

If you join any of our servers (teamspeak, irc, wow, etc.) by IP, then you're going to have to know these new IPs. And if you join by hostname (ie. ts.tsugaming.com) it will automatically be updated once your DNS propogates.

Hint: You can speed this process up by opening a command prompt and typing

Code: Select all

ipconfig /flushdns
IP ADDRESSES THAT HAVE CHANGED:
TsuGaming Teamspeak = ts.tsugaming.com (208.43.30.34)
TsuGaming IRC = irc.tsugaming.com (208.43.30.38)
Tsu World of Warcraft Server = logon.wow.tsugaming.com (208.43.30.41)

** Please do NOT use IP addresses to connect unless your DNS is slow and it isn't connecting using the normal address (ie. ts.tsugaming.com). Because if you use the IP, then if the IP changes again in the future you'll have to keep updating the IP. Whereas if you use the hostname address you just have to wait for DNS to update and it will be automatic!

If anyone has any questions, post them here.

Services should be completely restored (and up on these new IPs) within the next hour.

Good job on getting it all sorted and I hope the new hardware will reduce some of the lag issues. We all appreciate your work as much as we moan...

In all honesty there was only supposed to be about 30-90 minutes of downtime. But since Nightma12 is 5 hours ahead of me and signs off in the middle of working on something ... things get postponed or left half-done for 12+ hours ... 2 days in a row. So thats half a day wasted right there.

Should all be done by now, if not soon.

You should use logon.wow.tsugaming.com in your realmlist.wtf.

Or you can just use DrkPwner's WoW Launcher program and it should handle everything automatically (including the IP change). :)

I think the WoW server is offline atm, though (fyi)
