Well, there's been a string of problems with my Renegade lately, first, the 3.4.4 scripts wouldn't load, rejecting my Renegade with a bhs.dll problem, so I played once or twice without the scripts, and seen if that let me load the scripts on, which it didn't. After that I re-installed about 6-9 times, and it's failed, giving me no form of text as I install, and when it actually installs the menu is f*cked - http://img515.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wtfty8.jpg

And just recently, I've tried installing it from TFD, and gotten the same error. My first thought was it to be a compaitibily error with my video card or something, but I never actually updated anything on my computer..

I'm running on Vista, without SP1, and on a computer more then capable of running Renegade.

i cant get 3.4.4 2 work with the decade pack

u try rg with 3.4.4 to see what happens?

only way i could get 3.4.4 to work before i got the decade pack...

Yeah man I don't know sh*t about Vista problems, but my disks show no text on installation too. I used to be able to install it by guessing which buttons to press, but it came with a lot of bugs after. Eventually I torrented Renegade and installed it that way. I can't seem to get 3.4 to work properly, so I use scripts 2.9. If your disk is scratched that probably doesn't help either. This is kind of a shot in the dark, but you could try torrenting Renegade. It's about 1gb .

The normal solution to the main menu having no text is to simply reboot your PC. For some reason this fixes the problem normally.

hey, i got that same prob forever...
isnt there a way to take renegade out of your regedit? not sure if that would help, helped me

but then happened again like a week later.. so i just ordered another copy of ebay for 5 bucks. all better.. otherwise gamestop or bestbuy or some random game store should have a copy for 10-20 bucks.. specially if ya get the first decade edition(which is what I got.. works great)

1) Uninstall Renegade completely. Remove all files.

2) Restart your computer. (important step!)

3) Reinstall renegade from the original Renegade CDs (TFD if you have no other choice).

4) Install 1.037 patch.

5) Install No-CD crack. (includes 1.037 patch?)

6) Install scripts.dll updates

That should fix it.

You install the 1.037 patch, then copy the no-cd crack to your renegade folder. It overwrites your game.exe file.

after youve installed ren and you get that menu problem, dont go any further with patching or anything and restart your comp. after that the menu worked perfectly (for me atleast)

At ANY time (during installation, just after, a year later) ...... where your menu text disappears you must restart to fix it. That's the ONLY way.

Well, I did it that way and now its all good, except for the fact it's rejecting my serial calling it "Invalid", even though its the same serial I've been using for the past 3 years or so =\

You entered the serial in wrong on installation. Install it again, and make sure you put it in right this time.

No..I entered the right serial. I've done it 4 times, twice on two serials. I have a back-up serial for instances like this.

And, it rejects the serial, even though I've used it for ages =\

There's no reason why xwis would not accept your serial just because you reinstalled.

Well, it rejects my serial anyways, and I can't play on XWIS until I can somehow get it fixed =\
