Since I am a strong supporter of Firefox, I felt it necessary to create this topic to alert you that Firefox 3 comes out on the 17th of June (tomorrow) and that you should download it.

They are trying to set a world record.

Just a question, but what is it that makes Firefox so much better? Please put it into list form.

Anyway, as I said in a similar topic on Ren Forums;

I use Firefox myself. Why? Because I like it. I like the addons system, and I like the general layout. Does that make it better than ---insert other browser here---? Maybe, maybe not. I don't really care. I just know that I am happy with Firefox, it suits my browsing style, and that's all that really matters to me.

For those of us who use Firefox, the release of Firefox 3 is big news. For those of you who don't use it, why did you open this topic anyway?

There are a lot of industry standards that the entire world mutually agrees to follow on technical issues such as the internet, internet browsers, coding, etc. Microsoft broke a lot of these standards with Internet Explorer and Firefox adheres to them. For that reason alone it is far superior.

Also, there are a lot of small things that people wouldn't normally notice like in Internet Explorer there are "enhanced features" enabled by default which lag your browser. Have you ever noticed while surfing TsuGaming's website with IE6 or IE7 that it spikes your CPU to 90% or higher? That's because of the "smooth scrolling" feature that is enabled by default in IE.

The tabbed browsing functionality was introduce in earlier versions of Firefox and Microsoft caught on, and implemented it into IE7. They were a bit behind, and I still think that Firefox has IE beat in this regard.

The plugin system is nice, too. The built in popup blocker with more control and functionality than IE.

Firefox is the second most popular browser. And it's only second because Microsoft prebundles IE with a lot of its software and has forced it down the throats of consumers for so long.

Firefox also has a stronger security model.

If you haven't tried Firefox -- you definitely should. If you don't like it, uninstall it and go back to IE or whatever you use. Personally, I use Firefox for pretty much everything. The ONLY time I use Internet Explorer is when a site has scripting problems with Firefox (some object or javascript that doesn't conform to standards) or for Windows Update. Other than that, its Firefox all the way.

Take the time to download it tomorrow and at least check it out.

I wish they had put tabbed browsing into Explorer for Vista (As in, the file system browser windows, not the internet browser).

When I got my new computer, I also acquired Firefox and compared its speed with IE. For me, it loads web pages and images pretty much instantaneously (IE takes a couple of seconds for most pages) and general page quality, especially the quality of images is much better. All round, it's a much better browser.

Does anyone know what time (for what timezone) FF3 is going to be released? Should I wait up? xD
