Audio/Video Recorder?

Post by toadsdaki »

Looking for freeware btw ;) Anyways, on our other computer, we used to have this program that would record audio from the computer. For example I play something from youtube and it would record the audio. This was great, but now we can't seem to find the program again. So I started looking and I found one, unfortunately that didn't work because of some registry error or something. Then I found another one that used my mic to record the sound. This worked fine until I couldn't save the song. I would save it, and it simply wouldn't appear where I saved it. So if anyone knows of a good program to record audio, help appreciated.
Also, this isn't as important, but does anyone know of something I can use to record whatever is on my monitor screen? Kind of like fraps but not for games. JW.

http://www.wisdom-soft.com/asr/asr_free.htm to record your screen. The free version has some limitations, but it generally works OK.

so these have both worked fine. one more question ;) So i have an sd card for my phone and i've been able to transfer songs and pics from computer to phone. Then I tried to set one of the songs (i had only recorded 20 seconds of it) as my ringtone. Except the file was to big. Is there any way to compress it really small? What kind of format is the smallest? I tried it in .wav and .wma but they are WAY to big...

MP3 will be the most compatible and compressed format.

Hyper Cam 2 is good if you just want to record one window rather than everything
