Financial Update

There are a lot of questions and rumors circulating about community finances so I thought it would be appropriate to publish a news article straight from the top.

THE EVOLUTION
Originally TsuGaming collected donations by word of mouth and eventually started collecting them via a single graphic within a thread. No one really knew what our goals were so a lot of our expenses became a write-off.

Now that there is an evolving donations module on the front page of the website, users can clearly see who is donating, how much they're donating, how often they're donating, and how it affects the overall goal for that month at a quick glass. By clicking on the 'Donations' titlebar, they can also go to a more detailed page with even more information. A ledger is also available with manual input showing a breakdown of expenses and who donates towards what.

The goal is to fully automate this system so that when you make a donation, the payments are automatically and instantly posted (without human intervention being required as it is now). We also plan to include a more automated means of specifying how you'd like your monies distributed.


STATISTICS
Module statistics are automatic and based on monthly calculations. Ledger calculations are manual and attempt to show an ongoing balance and a more realistic goal (running totals).


GOALS
Our goals are based from the 15th to the 15th because we pay our bill on the 17th of the month. While the ledger remains manual, this may get a bit confusing (as its broken down by month), but as things become more and more automated it should be more clear as to what goes where and why.
