Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
I have all of the above, but I'm running a 9800GTX+ video card. But for some reason I get tearing and other weird phenomenon in almost every game. I'm hoping its the monitor or a cooling issue since the issue has persisted through a reformat.
I want to make sure I can run BF3 VERY smooth and a pretty high resolution (near max, or at max, res and detail).
yikes :O Feel like it might be time for an upgrade there dark I couldn't run Black Ops on my old computer. Dual core processor (rated at 3.3ghz) ati radeon 4200 and 4 gigs of ram. You might be in trouble here!

well its a laptop and i have no money (this is the reason i mostly console game) this is whats gunna get me through college. but it does do decent as a media center. i just need a firewire 400 external hard drive or serial bus...
That's a bummer I'm in your same position, but I worked a ton this summer and invested in a nice computer
BTW just on a sidenote thats back on topic: What's tearing? Just googled it, and lots of people say to toggle vsync and make sure frame rate is higher then refresh rate :O Is it possible it's a power supply issue? Haha look through everything! Hopefully your new monitor can help out though

Its either a driver issue or vid card issue. it shouldnt be a monitor issue but crazier things have happened.
Guys, I posted the RECOMMENDED specs. Not the minimum. Check out the site for the minimum, but at a glance it looks like you'd be able to at least run it. Though investing time and money in a new game you can barely play doesn't sound logical to me. Thus why I'm doing my homework
I just bought this damn 9800GTX+ and it's a good card, but if it's defective or the cause of my problems (I use the latest drivers) I'm going to be pissed because it's relatively new and I've had problems for awhile (which means if it WAS the card, it came to me defective out of the box).

Where did you buy the card? If it was from a store you should have a warranty. Or what brand is it you may be able to warranty through them. Most cards do have 2-3 years if not lifetime warranty but buying a 9800gtx thats really old techology. If you wanna step up theres been a drop in prices you can get a new nvidia 450 or 550 card for about $100 . In which the 550's arent bad cards at all.

And there are people that feel this way as well. Its true if you arent into gaming or playing newer games at better frames/resolutions then youll have no need for upgrades. As for me im into playing the newest games at max frames/res. and im always upgrading cpu's,vid cards pushing them to limits with overclocking, Its a hobby gets expensive from time to time but I never want to hear the words " My pc cant run that." come out of my mouth.
