Switch IRC?

Post by Spurs »

I know I have not been around, but why are we with black-cell? We have very good relations with Xpert and atomix, and Xpert, unlike the black-cell morons, is competent. My name is still banned on black-cell and none of them can figure out how to un-ban me. Anyway just a rant.

Because we also have good relations with zunnie (mp-gaming) which is where the bot is joining though for OPER :P

We could run our own IRC, witch I volunteered to setup but Nightma wants a userbase...

I support Nightma12's decision because Renegade itself is quite dead, and thus if we run a server we want to get as much exposure and traffic as possible. We can reduce our resource consumption, remove time spent on managing our own server, and increase exposure by hosting the bot there.

Another IRC connect could possibly be with Jelly, lots of the main renegade servers are there, also most of the people there play renegade and we could advertise there in the channels get people to check it out.

* If one of you decided to switch to a different link.

I dont have time to readd a new OPER link to our custom NR..... or neogitate IRCOp with any server owners.

I can enable pass ident on our current NR to allow someoe to add the OPER later.... but someone else will have to neogitate the OPER if you wish to move, as im busy.... going away tommmorrow :P

It's not a community issue. It's a Renegade issue. And the decision was made between Nightma12 (an owner) and dog02 (Renegade manager). To which I also support the decision. I support the democratic process, however - and with Nightma12 leaving this will pretty much be dog02's decision.

I am not even going to act like I understood that.

Leave it the way it is it's fine.

Haha it would be a pain, it's probably not worth it.

Ive just updated our custom NR build to allow this change in the future if anyone decided to do so without having to go though me.

Dog: Ive renabled the 'Pass Ident' button.. click it and add a line that says OPER nick pass (not /oper, OPER is a raw IRC protocol command)
