Meet & Greet

On Saturday August 20th, we will have a "Meet and Greet" -- on Teamspeak -- between 2pm and 8pm U.S. Central time. The main time will be 5pm U.S. Central time. So if you can only come on for a little bit, 5pm is the time you want to come. But if you're available, please hangout on teamspeak between 2pm and 8pm Central for as long as possible in case other people show up.

ON THIS DAY (and during this time) PLEASE DO **NOT** GO INTO OTHER CHANNELS. I might even lock them. The whole idea is to meet other people. Not go hide in other channels and make them chase you. Be social for a couple of hours.

The purpose of this is to give the new members a chance to meet other gamers and get some mingling in. It's also a chance for new members (or old) to ask questions of staff members.

As stated, this will be on Teamspeak (voice chat). For those who are not familiar with it, Teamspeak is a program you run on your computer that lets you talk to other gamers while you're in game. If you don't have a microphone, you can still install the program and connect to the server and text chat with everyone.

I would like for the LoL channels to remain unlocked. Some of our members have limited time to play LoL and would like to spend it with their community. You shut down the entire LoL community for a day if you lock our channels. (Also, could you peek at the topic in the LoL Managers forum?).

I'll look at the topic in a minute. But with regard to the participation in this event-- unless there is a competition, they can play LoL in a public channel for a couple hours (ie. the Lobby). It may be a little distracting, but the whole point of this event is to help new people get to know everyone. And if you guys isolate yourself or aren't approachable ... for whatever reason ... you defeat the purpose instantly.

Agreed , its always a clusterfluck when theres multiple games in 1 channel but it could be a good way to say hi & get a few new players, I have a friend who is a good LoL player and would probably be interested ill try to get him online .

In all honesty -as a gamer who has been "pro" in more than one game- I will admit it'd be annoying. HOWEVER, this is only for a couple of hours. Suck it up!
