We have both agreed on some major changes that will be started NOW (already in progress, actually). It should be very obvious to you guys in about 30 minutes or so.
- This custom template is going bye bye - we'll figure out what template we want to use in a bit. For now, it will be the default one that comes with phpBB. Since the forums aren't too active right now anyway, it shouldn't be a big deal.
- All custom modifications are being wiped. We are going to either redo the custom mods we want to keep, or find a community-released (phpBB community) mod that has similar or greater functionality; therefore being more compatible with the core phpBB system.
- The file structure of our web root will be changing as well. So there will probably be a LOT of broken links (to files and pictures) for a short while. As we find them, we'll fix them. But rather than track down where everything is and then move it/recode it ... it's easier to just break it and fix all errors.
- Heavy modification to the authentication system will be taking place "soon" so that we can finally have the multi-site (shared users) functionality we have been talking about for what seems like FOREVER. We need to rip through some code and decide how we want things done before this step will actually be executed.
